Theme Night

So said William Shakespeare and Hornton is going to prove how right he was because another village theme night is being planned!

And you can help by coming along to a meeting this Monday, February 13, at 7.30pm in the pavilion.

Theme nights used to be a mainstay of village entertainment and would always sell out: they were an evening of songs and sketches, written and performed by the Hornton Allsorts, and based around a theme. We had Space Night and Spanish Night. There was even a Yorkshirevision Song Contest Night!

Now Kevin and Jane Wain think the time is ripe for another one.

“Hornton Drama has been a main stay of entertainment in the village over many decades, and we’re hoping that after a short break it will be back on the calendar again soon,” says Jane. “We have a brand new stage in need of activity, we have a village full of talented people and an audience ready and waiting to be entertained.”

“These are fun evenings with a meal and some entertainment, a great light hearted entry into our drama scene,” added Kevin. “Don’t be bashful! Whether you would like to go on stage or back stage, lighting or sounds, scene painting or posters, or just helping on the evening. Please come along and have a chat, if you can’t make that night but would still like to know more, just email me and I will keep you up-to-date with everything drama group.”
