Hornton Open Gardens

Twelve of Hornton’s beautiful gardens – plus the allotments – will be open in aid of good causes on Sunday, June 4, and organiser Lynn Corke is appealing for help from villagers to make the event go with a swing.

“Cakes are a very important part of an event like this, so please do make a cake if you can,” says Lynn.

“You can drop it round to The Cottage in Church Lane on Saturday, June 3, or on the Sunday morning. If you need to make a cake in advance, I can make room in my freezer.”

Lynn also needs volunteers to “garden sit” at a couple of the gardens where the owners will be away on the day, plus people to sell tickets, plants and raffle tickets at the pay point down on the green.

If you are able to help, please ring Lynn on 670673 or email her at lynnjcorke@aol.com

And she wants visitors, of course. The event is raising money for village causes and Katherine House Hospice. Tickets will be £6 for adults – children free – payable in cash on the day or you can book ahead online by going to the Katharine House website.
